Framing: Week 2.

So much progress made from Monday 10/28 through Wednesday 10/30. We have a 2nd floor!

Looking up at what will be the side of the master bedroom, and the part sticking out is the master bathroom wall.

Windows from left to right: master WC; master tub; Cyndy's writing closet.  The far right window is in the corner of a rear bedroom.

Looking from the upstairs hallway into what will be the bonus room.  It's enormous!

Looking down the (eventual) staircase.

From the street.  It will be really striking once the gables and roof are constructed.

Framing: Day 5.

The crew put in some very productive hours on Saturday. Joists for 2nd floor appear nearly complete, and a lot more wall sheathing was applied.

This LVL beam is massive!  It bears most of the load of the bonus room.

There's the big LVL again.  Came all the way from Oregon!

I suspect the crew will be flooring upstairs before the end of the week.

Bug loves his future new home so much he didn't want to leave yesterday!  He's also sticking his tongue out at me for this pic...look closely...!!

Framing: Days 3 & 4.

Steaming right along - first floor nearly complete, walls being sheathed, and starting on 2nd floor joists as of Friday afternoon, October 25th.  (First eight pics below are from Thursday, 10/24.)

Looking from back to front...through family room, dining room, to library, with hallway on right.

This is going to be the kitchen; pantry and drop zone to right, along with door to garage.

Bob's math was a little off; the screen porch is only 193 sq ft, which makes the total area "under roof" 4,435 sq ft.  Heated sq ft remains at 3,307.

The transom window in the drop zone has been framed in.

Today (Fri 10/25) saw the beginning of wall sheathing.

I hate to repeat myself, but the side yards are going to be soooo nice and spacious; this is the room we were seeking!

Looking toward the rear of the home from the back of the yard.

Looks like a garage to me!  Note the beefy LVL header which will be supporting the outer portion of the bonus room.

Side rear view, looking at what will be the screen porch, family room to left, keeping room to right.

The temporary electrical pole was inspected, approved, and wired up today.  Thanks, CharMeck!

Framing: Day 2.

These framing guys are animals! They cruised through the complete subfloor and about 60% of the perimeter framing today. We are mightily impressed.

AdvanTech, as far as the eye can see!

Looking toward the front door and library.

Library; nice big windows!

Dining room windows.

Entry door from garage; drop zone will be on the left, pantry on the right.

Looking from the garage toward what will be my big beautiful kitchen!

Wall sheathing.

Big opening for the front door, which will be 42" x 96"...Mahogany...

From the street.
