Dafuq??
Where did all my pictures go?!? I generally like most things google, but I have to say, "blogger" is mediocre at best. Not intuitive, and the interface is crude. Whatevs, it's over.

Hurry up & wait.
Down to the final days now. Final inspections were completed and approvals granted, and the finished plat is under review with the town & county. Expecting to be granted a CO today or tomorrow, barring governmental idiots nitpicking something minor to justify their jobs. Closing rescheduled to Monday 5/12. Exhausted!
Outdoor shower pan is complete, and passed inspection. Nice natural pebbles always feel good under foot. This has to be one of the most deluxe dog washing setups all the world. My gawd are the boys spoiled rotten.
Gotta order a longer hose so the shower head will reach all the way to the ground and be able to spray the dirty underside of a dog.
Still pretty messy inside, but soon it will be "broom clean".
There's that FINAL APPROVED inspection sticker!
Shutters up.
Shutters.
Slightly different angle.
This is how the goofball likes to sleep. I guess it's comfortable?

Home stretch.
We can almost feel it now. About two weeks back, we penciled in a closing date of Thursday, May 8th, and as of May 1st, there have been no objections or requests for extension from Mark the GC. Looks like we're going hit it!
The rain garden is complete. Planted were some grasses (can't remember the name) and several Clethra "Hummingbird" shrubs. Little babies now, but we expect them to grow big & strong in no time flat.
O hai Sally Mander! Wut r u doing in there?!? :-D (We love Sally, she or he is always welcome at our home.)
Carpeting showed up on Tuesday the 29th.
The door hardware dudes were over again yesterday (4/30) to finish up their installations on the exterior doors (which had been using "construction" locks). This is the Kwikset "Tavaris" handleset, in venetian bronze. Quite handsome.
Carpet in the master bedroom. It's a "frieze", and it is very soft and plush.
Carpet in the bonus room.
The fire-breathing dragon is installed.
Simple, effective design, industrial-quality components, and flawless fit & finish.
Yup.
ARRGGHHH!! My kitchen is filthy and in total disarray!! Brings to mind that old saying about sausage-making....
Spiffy fridge and microwave.
Close-up of the "built in" micro. Fingerprints though...!
Dog wash station/outdoor shower fixture finally installed. Tiles are in the garage, awaiting installation, and the PVC wall/door should arrive any day.

Hot & Cool.
Electrical and HVAC nearing completion after a lot of activity on Wednesday 04.23.
My double oven just before installation.
Finally got to see my new pride & joy rangetop while the gas line was rigged up. Not installed until Cabinet Chad cuts a notch in the back wall of the cabinet base.
Oven installation was easy - Robert and Patrick the electricians knocked it out in about 20 minutes. Looks sharp, even with all the protective plastic and stickers still on.
Nothing stops a Trane. Or two Tranes, as the case may be. I'm hoping nothing stops a Rinnai, either!
Waiting for blades of fescue to start appearing.......

More forward momentum.
The front porch roof was installed. Water heater installed and plumbed. Progress on the remaining trim bits (primarily around the porch bases and columns). And gutters too!
Arrived just in time yesterday to catch the beginning of the metal roof installation.
Nearly complete.
"This isn't the droid you're looking for." lulz
Look at the outlet box for perspective. This guy is a compact little dynamo!
A look at the porch roof from the master bedroom.
Though still all dusty dirty, but the big tub and Delta Trinsic fixtures are looking good.
Shower door and hardware are in.
Gutters!
Oversized downspouts.
It's been called a "show stopper" already, and it ain't even done!
peek a boo!

Definitely in the stretch run.
Right on the heels of the flatwork came the irrigation system completion, rain garden sodding, seed & straw (again!) on lawn, and...the appliances were delivered!
There it is, all ~160 feet of it.
Set up nice, no problems with foot traffic today, but it'll take the standard 28 days (min) to cure to full compressive strength.
The "Bracing Blue" paint continues to make us happy. It shows a wide range of shade, depending on the light.
The standing seam metal porch roof will be installed on Saturday. I suspect the Dove Gray color will blend in with the siding, which makes me think I should have gone with a darker color. We'll see....
Rain garden surround has to be sodded, per code. It was a surprise to me!
Interesting story about how the appliances made it into the house. Oof marone such drama.
Washer and dryer.
Refrigerator, wall ovens, and dishwasher L to R.
There's my boy!! 36" American Range Performer rangetop. Monster. 3 x 25,000 BTU burners; 2 x 18,000; 1 x 12,000. CAN'T WAIT TO COOK ON IT!!!
W&D, now upstairs in their new home.
Tall fescue seed, lime, and starter fertilizer. And straw on top. We should have a pretty solid lawn...by autumn LOL.
